The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized at EAMC and EAMC-Lanier has decreased for 7 straight days. Plus, the cases shown for today are all at EAMC—there are currently no positive or pending cases at EAMC-Lanier. However, as people become more mobile and active, the chances of transmission improve greatly. Please continue to practice good hand hygiene and social distancing, wear a mask in public settings or when around people other than their household family members, and disinfect high-touch surface areas such as door handles, countertops, computer mouse and keyboard, faucet handles, microwave and oven buttons, etc. In public, use hand sanitizer after touching grocery carts, doors, merchandise, money, etc.

528-SICK Update
Calls to the 528-SICK have continued to decrease, so EAMC is scaling back its hours a little more. The new call center hours are 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. For the time being, the call center will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays. As a reminder, individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms can contact 334-528-SICK to be screened by a clinician. If the symptoms warrant being tested, the individual will be scheduled for a COVID-19 testing appointment in Auburn or Valley. The main symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. If you have a medical emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest Emergency Department. For non-emergent medical care, please contact your primary care physician or visit an urgent care office.
Most EAMC Services Return to Regular Hours
EAMC clinics, physician offices and departments have resumed regular hours and are treating patients while adhering to Governor’s Ivey’s orders. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in our region, EAMC has committed to extensive and proactive measures to ensure the safety and protection of patients and staff. While some offices did adjust hours or implement telehealth, we continued to serve the region throughout the COVID-19 outbreak.

Cloth Masks Needed for Nursing Homes
The CDC has released new recommendations for residents in nursing homes to wear masks when receiving care or outside of their rooms. If you are interested in donating cloth/ear loop masks for the residents of Oak Park and EAMC-Lanier Nursing Home, please deliver them to the Main Lobby entrance at EAMC and they will be sent to these locations. The nursing homes have about 200 combined residents and they would like for each resident to have a handful of masks.
