OPELIKA, Ala. – At approximately 8:00 AM on 04/07/2022, Opelika High School was placed on lockdown after receiving a threatening phone call from an unknown individual. All students and staff followed lockdown procedures while officers secured the building. After an initial investigation by law enforcement, the lockdown was lifted at 11:30 AM. OPD will remain on scene for the remainder of the school day to monitor the situation and ensure safety. This incident remains under investigation by the Opelika Police Department.
