In an exciting development for the Opelika community, Mayor Gary Fuller made a significant announcement during a recent appearance on the "On The Mark" show on Fox Sports 910-1310am. Hosted by D. Mark Mitchell and Jeff Sasser, Mayor Fuller revealed that a partnership between Opelika City Schools and the City had been approved at the July 18th City Council meeting.
The project includes the following major updates for Opelika High School:
Bulldog Stadium Enhancements:
Installation of brand-new turf.
New lights.
New jumbotron.
Football Indoor Facility Upgrade:
Replace the football indoor facility's turf.
Opelika's Baseball Park Improvements:
Installation of turf.
New lights.
Mayor Fuller shared the estimated cost of the project, "All in all, it's about almost 3.4 million dollars." Mayor Fuller emphasized that the City would invest approximately 1.7 million dollars into the upgrades.
