News story on Phenix City man's lawsuit with Wal-Mart
It sounds unbelievable but it's true. Back in June of 2015 Henry Walker (according to his attorney) was getting a watermelon out of a bin that was on top of some pallets. Walker's foot then slipped inside of the side opening on a pallet and fell when he turned towards his buggy. His fall left him with several injuries and a broken hip.
Wal-Mart was sued on claims of negligence and wantonness. The jury was in favor of Walker on each case. Walker was awarded $2.5 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.
One of Walker's attorney's said that he used to play basketball 3 days a week with friends and now has to use a walker. Read more on the story with the links provided
