This Artist Gave 'The Lion King' an Alternative Look

Whether or not you've made it to the theaters to see the recently released live-action remake of The Lion King, surely you've seen the trailers and still photos from the movie itself all over the internet, let alone social media. You've also probably seen the backlash the movie has been getting - people saying it's not the same and it's "dispirited" compared to the original.

What I don't understand is how people can go see these live-action remakes of our favorite Disney movies from most of our childhoods and expect the exact thing from the original. It's a live-action movie, for crying out loud. No, they're not going to be animated characters...then it would not be a live-action movie. Sure, I did get the feeling that I was watching National Geographic but, last I checked, real-life lions, meerkats, hyenas, hornbill birds, etc. didn't look like they just came out of a coloring book. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of the film, which is why I feel entitled to express my own. SO, if you have not seen the movie yet, as anyone should, go into it with an open mind. The movie was great and it followed, for the most part, the original storyline.

Wrapping this up to the main point and why I've said all of this: I came across this article after seeing The Lion King, where artists Ellejart and Design by Feo attempted to combine the live-action and animation we all grew up with from the original movie. It's an interesting thought, and the pictures are great! However, I stand by my opinion: it's a live-action remake...so the real animals are necessary and make more sense.
