Reba McEntire refused to kiss her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn, when he joined her on the Halloween episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday (October 31).

Kelly Clarkson donned a jaw-dropping Beetlejuice look in honor of the late 80s film’s newly-debuted sequel. McEntire’s costume was inspired by Beetlejuice character Delia Deetz, played by Catherine O'Hara, while Linn appeared on the show with a nod to Danny DeVito’s role as the janitor.

“Oh, gross! No!” McEntire said as she raised her hand to block her face, refusing to allow Linn to kiss her. Clarkson gestured to Linn as she said, “you’ve never made out with that,” and McEntire said she “never will.” The trio went on to acknowledge their nods to the Beetlejuice movies, and discuss Linn’s appreciation for scaring others (though McEntire appears to be unaffected by Linn’s efforts to scare her).

McEntire and Linn are currently starring alongside one another in Happy’s Place, a comedy show that premiered on October 18. The show focuses on Bobbie, played by McEntire, who “inherits a restaurant from her late father, then learns she must share ownership with a newly discovered half-sister, creating awkward tension between the two.” Kevin Abbott and Julie Abbott created the show, which also stars Belissa Escobedo, Reba co-star Melissa Peterman and others. Happy’s Place airs on NBC and streams on Peacock the next day. The next episode airs on Friday (November 1).
