Dadeville Man Charged With Sexual Abuse Of A Child

AUBURN, Ala.- On May 7, 2018, Auburn Police arrested Clifford Earl Williams, age 43, from Dadeville, Alabama, in obedience to a Grand Jury indictment charging him with sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age.

The arrest stems from an investigation into the sexual abuse of a child that was reported to police on Aug. 10, 2015. The incident occurred at a residence on Oak Street.  The investigation was initiated when officials were made aware that a child had possibly been sexually abused by Williams, while in his care prior to Aug. 10 in 2015. The Auburn Police Division, with the assistance of the Lee County Department of Human Resources, investigated the incident and confirmed Williams as the individual responsible.

The case was recently presented to a Lee County Grand Jury; Williams was indicted on the felony charge of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age. He turned himself in to detectives at the Auburn Police Division and was taken into custody.  Williams was transported to the Lee County Jail where he remains in custody on a $50,000 bond.
