Sherman L. Smith has turned himself in and has been arrested on the Murder warrant. He will be booked into the Lee County Jail.
OPELIKA, Ala –
On 05/25/2020, the Opelika Police Department began investigating a murder that occurred in the 100 block of Covenant Drive. The investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Murder on black male Sherman Levar Smith, 42 yoa. Smith is described as 6’01” tall and weighing approximately 240 pounds. Smith is known to have ties to the Auburn/Opelika area. Smith’s photograph is attached.
