Do you suffer from gymtimidation? According to a new survey, 25% of women suffer from “gymtimidation”-- not wanting to exercise because they are afraid of being judged. Almost half of the women surveyed said they had at some point felt negatively judged when they were working out -- with 70% of 18- to 24-year-olds saying they had felt that way at some time. (SWNS)
Girls can tackle anything … including football.According to research by the National Federation of State High Schools Association, more girls are playing on boys’ football teams than ever before. Yep, data from all 50 states and D.C. revealed that for the 2018-2019 school year 2,404 girls played tackle football on high school teams – the most ever recorded. (Deadspin)
Hawaiians are happy …WalletHub just released its annual list of the happiest states in the country. The rankings were based on an analysis of 30 different metrics, but focused on three main categories: emotional and physical well-being (including career and social satisfaction, depression rates, and life expectancy); work environment, (including commute times and length of the average work day); and community and environment, (including crime, safety, weather, and divorce rates). Congratulations, Hawaii – you are the happiest state in the country.
