Couple found dead in Auburn identified

On  June 25, 2017 the Auburn Police Division confirmed the identities of  the individuals discovered deceased in a residence in the 700 block of  Hunter Court as Daniel A. Gray, 40 and Kimmerly R. Gray, 38.   Police  went to the residence on Saturday in response to a welfare concern and  located the couple deceased inside their residence. Lee County Coroner  Bill Harris responded to the scene and pronounced them deceased at 2:45  & 2:46 p.m.   

 

A preliminary investigation by Auburn  Police indicated a domestic incident occurred at the residence resulting  in the death of Kimmerly Gray, after which, Daniel Grey died as a  result of a self-inflicted gunshot injury. On June 24, at approximately 1:15 pm, Auburn Police Division  responded to a residence in the 700 block of Hunter Court, in reference  to a welfare concern. Upon arrival, officers entered the residence and  located a 40 year old male and a 38 year old female, both deceased. The  preliminary investigation indicates that the individuals were known to  each other. The Auburn Police Division is investigating the case as a  homicide resulting from a domestic incident. The identity of the  deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. 

 

The  case remains under investigation by the Auburn Police Division, the Lee  County Coroner’s Office, and the Alabama Department of Forensic  Science- Medical Examiner’s Office.
