Jean Dean RIF's mission is to provide quality, age-appropriate books to more than 20,000 at-risk young children all across the state of Alabama. This Fun Run helps with that. The event will take place at Floral Park on 600 Floral Park Street in Opelika on Saturday, October 21st. Here's what time things will be happening:
7am-- Registration starts
8:15am-- 8k & 5K Run
8:20am-- Sara Schwarzauer 1.5 mile walk
9am-- Clifford's 50 yard dash (Children 5 & under)
9:15am-- 1/4 mile Ope-Lika Run (Children 6-9 years old)
- Aubie and Clifford the Big Red Dog will be on hand
- Parenting/Health Fair
- Alabama author Richard Oden will be on hand and have signed copies of his book
- And if you can, PLEASE bring any gently used or new shoes to donate for SHOES4BOOKS
