AUBURN, Ala.- Artists and patrons gathered last week to celebrate over 60 artists participating in the Auburn CityFest Juried Art Exhibition. Held in conjunction with Auburn CityFest, the Juried Art Exhibition Reception was held on Thursday, April 25, at the Historic Nunn-Winston House at Kiesel Park.
Presented by the City of Auburn, Auburn Arts Association and the Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau, the exhibition showcased a variety of works by area artists working in fine art mediums such as works on paper, paintings, ceramics, sculpture, prints, stained glass and photography.
The winners of the Auburn and Opelika Tourism Bureau Merit Awards for Best of Show were Kyle Braund, “Bastet” and Scott Melville, “Still Life with Apples.”
The winner of the Auburn CityFest Merit Awards was Florence Giles, “Cotton Pickin’ Time.”
Auburn Arts Association Merit Award winners included Helen Britnell, “Last Ride;” Karen Lindved Chittom, “The Bee Eater;” Adam Fralich, “Exhale;” Laura Kolberg, “Edged;” Catherine Lenkner, “Soldiers Final Rest;” Julie Plasketes, “Forsythia;” Teresa Rodriguez, “Inland Waters;” Gina Touchton, “Abandoned 1: Hwy 14” and Jaqueline De La Vega.
