AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women’s basketball team will make its second straight appearance in the Big 12/SEC Challenge in 2019 when the Tigers will face TCU, the conference office announced Monday.
Auburn will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, for the matchup with the Horned Frogs on Saturday, Dec. 7. Game time and TV information will be announced at a later date.
This will be Auburn’s third appearance in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. Last season, the Tigers hosted Oklahoma at Auburn Arena, earning a 95-79 victory. Auburn traveled to Kansas State during the 2016-17 season, falling to the Wildcats in Manhattan, Kan.
Ten teams from the SEC and every team from the Big 12 take part in the Challenge each season. The format features five home games on campus sites for each conference per year. In 2019, games have been scheduled for dates between Wednesday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 8.
The inaugural challenge was held in 2014 with the first 10-game slate in 2016. The SEC edged the Big 12, 6-4, that season with the conferences splitting the challenge, 5-5, the past two years.
