Join Lee County Humane Society as we come together with hundreds of other shelters in the United States for one huge adoption event!

From coast to coast, over one thousand animal shelters have partnered with NBC and Telemundo owned television stations to host this nationwide event. In 2018, more than 88,000 pets were adopted in the United States and Puerto Rico during Clear the Shelter™ in one day! LCHS will be offering reduced adoption fees during this two-day event. LCHS’ other pet discount promotions including Pets for the Elderly and Pets for Patriots will also apply. The possibilities are endless and make it the perfect weekend to adopt! Clear the Shelters™ is sponsored nationally by Cat’s Pride and Hill’s Pet Nutrition and live footage from the event will be broadcast on NBCUniversal channels, Telemundo channels, as well as the Clear the Shelters website August 17th, 2019.

Auburn, Alabama (August 17, 2019 - 12-3 pm) -- Thanks to a grant from State Farm, Lee County Humane

Society is also able to host It’s Hip to Microchip, a microchip clinic with Carefree Cats Mobile Vet Clinic. A pet

microchip and its’ registration greatly increase the chance of your pet being returned to you if they are ever lost

or stolen. The microchip clinic provides the opportunity to get your pet microchipped for only $15. The average

cost of a pet microchip is $45, so take advantage of this steal of a deal! This clinic is available to anyone who

has a pet that needs a microchip, not just adopters. The clinic is a cash-only offer and is applicable to both cats

and dogs.

LCHS is open for adoptions 12-5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. All available pets can be viewed online at www.leecountyhumane.org/adopt. There are currently over 200 pets available for adoption! Those interested in learning more about Clear the Shelters™ adoption campaign or watching the event live, please visit https://www.cleartheshelters.com/ for more details.
