EAMC’s Latest COVID-19 Update: A Q&A with Dr. Michael Roberts
Throughout this month, Michael Roberts, M.D., hospitalist and chief of staff, has been using the Penn CHIME predictive modeling tool to input EAMC’s COVID-19 numbers and have the program provide results on how the level of social distancing in the community can impact hospitalizations and ventilator use. This week, Dr. Roberts decided the tool was no longer that useful since he hopes COVID-19 has peaked in east Alabama. Instead, he takes a look at statistics on a line graph from the past month that show positive news on COVID hospitalizations and ventilator use. He’s encouraged by the reduction in ventilator usage, but says there’s still room for improvement to reduce the number of COVID hospitalizations. His Q & A can be found here.https://bit.ly/3aEpqeS
