The photographs are of the little girl we believe to be Baby Jane Doe, whose skeletal remains were discovered behind a trailer park in Opelika, Alabama, in January of 2012. These photographs were first released to the media several years ago. They have since been enhanced as to bring out a clearer image of the little girl. The enhanced photographs have been shown to the Bible School teacher who first brought them to the police, and she believes that the enhanced images depict a better likeness to the real little girl. The Opelika Police Department remains steadfast in its efforts to identify Baby Jane Doe. The investigation remains active and detectives continue to follow up on all leads, as well as, take advantage of new technology that may assist in the identification of the little girl. Anyone that recognizes this little girl is asked to contact the Opelika Police Department Detective Division at (334)705-5220 or the Secret Witness Hotline. We would also like to remind everyone that through generous donations from the Alabama Governor’s Office, the Lee County District Attorney’s Office, and a private citizen, there is a $20,000 reward for information leading to the identity of Baby Jane Doe and the conviction of her killer. With the public’s help, we hope to be able to give this little girl a name and solve the mystery of what happened to her.
