On this date at approximately 6:30 A.M., officers of the Valley Police Department were dispatched a residence in the 6400 block of 19th Avenue in reference to a shooting that had occurred.
The victim, 51-year-old Leon Marshall of Valley, had been taken to EAMC-Lanier by private vehicle with a non-threatening gunshot wound. He stated that he had gone to his ex-girlfriend’s house to get his phone. After she gave it to him, he left. As he was walking away, she drove up next to him and shot him one time.
The suspect, Theresa Deshan Willis, 59 years old of Valley, was taken into custody on scene and brought to the Valley Police Department where she was interviewed by Detectives.
Willis was charged with Domestic Violence 1st (Assault 1st) and, after processing, was transported to the Chambers County Detention Facility pending a bond hearing.
