Lauren Alaina took the iconic Grand Ole Opry stage and paid tribute to one of country music’s most unforgettable artists. The Opry member relived the rendition on Monday (April 10), when she posted a reel on Instagram to share a snippet of her performance of “Stand By Your Man,” in honor of Tammy Wynette.

Wynette released “Stand By Your Man” in the late 1960s, and the ballad has remained a country classic decades later. The Mississippi native and Country Music Hall of Famer co-wrote her signature song with producer and songwriter Billy Sherrill. Wynette’s smash-hit released in 1968, the first of three consecutive years that she earned the Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year award, the Hall of Fame noted.

“If there’s one TWANG I know for sure, it was an honor to sing Stand by your Man in remembrance of Tammy Wynette 🎶,” Alaina — who announced at the Grand Ole Opry late last year that she’s engaged to her “best friend,” Cam Arnold — wrote in her signature pun-making style as she shared a clip of her Opry performance on her social media channels: “Stand by your man, and show the world you love him/ Keep giving all the love you can./ Stand by your man.”
