Thomas Rhett hinted at new music when he played an unreleased ballad for the first time at a recent show.
Rhett shared a clip of that moment on Instagram over the weekend. He told the cheering audience, “I’m gonna attempt to play you a song that we literally rehearsed for the first time today at sound check. And I just finished a record, like, as of yesterday. I don’t know when it’s coming out, but…you’re the first people to hear it. This song’s called ‘Better In Love.’ Hope we don’t mess it up.”
The clip includes a sneak peek of “Better In Love.” Rhett hasn’t announced any additional details — including a possible release date — as of publication time on Monday (August 17).
New music from Rhett would follow his latest full studio record, About A Woman, which made its debut in August 2024. Rhett expanded the original 14-track album with a 26-track deluxe edition last year. The album includes “After All The Bars Are Closed,” “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Woman,” “Beautiful As You,” “Gone Country,” “Church,” “What Could Go Right,” and more.
Rhett is currently on his “The Soundtrack To Life Tour,” which he kicked off with a co-headlining concert with Niall Horan on July 9 in Nashville, Tennessee. The two artists took the GEODIS Park stage with special guests Kashus Culpepper and Emily Ann Roberts, who are part of the lineup on Rhett’s run of shows. “The Soundtrack To Life Tour” also includes ERNEST, Zach John King, Vincent Mason and Conner Smith on select dates.
