EAMC's Covid-19 Census drops to lowest numbers since March

Monday marked the first time that EAMC has been as low as 10 patients with COVID since March 25, 2020, when it had 9 patients. On that same day, Lee County had recorded a TOTAL of 40 COVID-19 cases (hospital and community) in the first 10 days of the virus reaching this area. As of today, Lee County has had 14,967 confirmed COVID-19 cases—that’s an average of 43.90 cases PER DAY over the past 341 days. Today is also the first time EAMC’s visitation level is yellow. On March 18, 2020, EAMC announced an immediate halt to visitation, which in effect made it a double-red level. Eventually, visitation was re-opened and started at orange before returning to red in early December. Last week, EAMC officials planned to move from red to orange, but the census dropped so quickly, the decision was made to move to yellow beginning today.
