Relay For Life of Lee County, a local volunteer-run event, will hold its planning meeting for 2023 on Thursday, Dec. 15.
Volunteers will gather at 5:30 p.m. at the Opelika Public Library, 1100 Glenn St. and co-chair Randy Causey said planning meeting are open to everyone, especially those who want to find out more about how to be involved.
“Relay For Life is about supporting those in our community fighting cancer and raising money for cancer research,” said Causey, who along with wife Debra, a two-time cancer survivor, are instrumental in Lee County’s program. “We invite everyone to come out and learn how they can be involved.”
The 2023 Relay will be held Friday, April 28, in downtown Opelika around the Courthouse Square and the theme is “Moving Relay Forward Because Every Step Brings Hope.”
