When this husband decided to pick up a Powerball ticket for his wife for Christmas, he couldn't have known how that would be a gift of a lifetime. DC Lottery officials say it was Pamela V. who is claiming $2 million. She told lottery reps that she got the ticket from her husband for Christmas.
“We are elated to find out we won. It’s life-changing, We have kids in college, so this will definitely help with college tuition.” The couple’s $2 million ticket was the DC Lottery’s highest Powerball win in 2023.
The DC Lottery reports "Pamela V. just increased her wealth by $2,000,000 due to a thoughtful Christmas gift she received from her husband. They found out together, on Christmas Day, that the POWERBALL ticket he purchased from the Capitol Hill Safeway in early December was a winner. This $2 million ticket is the DC Lottery’s highest POWERBALL win for 2023.
